Gareth is an experienced school leader both in the UK and the Cayman Islands. As a "trouble shooting" Headteacher he worked at transforming two schools in London and additionally as a member of a "Headteacher team" was sent into one of the UK's most notoriously failing secondary schools. In all cases the schools radically improved, including one that featured highly on the UK's "most improved schools" table. During this time, amongst many accolades, his leadership was described by HMI (Her Majestry's Inspector of Schools) as "outstanding".
Prior to this, Gareth was the Principal of a secondary school in the Cayman Islands, which was reported by the Schools' Inspectorate as having undergone "major improvement" during his time as Principal..
He has considerable experience of supporting/mentoring Headteachers (Primary and Secondary) in both the UK and the Cayman Islands.
Gareth holds both the NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) and LPSH (Leadership Programme for Serving Headteachers) qualifications.
As a highly popular and inspiring visiting speaker Gareth has contributed to NPQH sessions as visiting speaker on such themes as "The Magic of Headship" and "How I improved my school". Feedback has always been outstanding for these sessions.
